Neighborhood Notice

Dear Resident,

An important environmental monitoring project has been implemented in your neighborhood.

At the direction of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Resource Environmental LLC (RELLC), an environmental management company, conducted drilling and installation activities of two groundwater monitoring wells along the southern perimeter of the Trail View State Park, in the public right-of-way. This work is part of an important ongoing effort to monitor groundwater conditions in your area.  Groundwater here is part of the drinking water aquifer servicing the public.

Please note the following:

  • The groundwater being assessed is located deep underground — approximately 300 to 500 feet below the surface.
  • There is no health risk associated with this project. The potentially impacted groundwater is not accessible through inhalation, ingestion, or direct contact, and it does not affect the surface or any residential properties in the area.
  • The public drinking water supply is regularly tested and continues to meet all state and federal safety standards. This project will not impact your drinking water.
  • The installation of the groundwater monitoring wells was completed between August and September 2025.
  • Work will occurred Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Every effort was made to minimize disruption and maintain a safe and secure work area throughout the project.
